African creations was created by a son of an African Chief in 1991 to help his tribal crafters in the Ashanti tribe of Ghana who had beautiful items but lacked the opportunity to market thier products. In 1991 when l visited my family in Ghana and brought samples of their work to art shows and festivals in the Chicago metropolitan area, interest for their products grew. I therefore created a website to market thier products, after years of struggle and my affiliation with "Fair trade Federation" has helped tremendously to increase their standard of living. I now work with over 25 crafters in Africa as a whole who intern employ over 500 people. Our goal is to offer better wages and increase the standard of living in Africa through the sale of African Art & Craft and hopefully build an art and craft industry in Africa in general by providing a reliable channel of supply to other businesses in the United states and provide a good standard of living as well.
