Introduction of company
Established in 1999, Tibet ZBY Lithium High-tech Co., Ltd. is holden by Tibet Mining Co., Ltd. Our company is focused on research and refining procedure of lithium carbonate, and own the solo saline-exploitation right. Based on the research results of the Academician,Mr. Zheng Mianping, we gradually finished the building of lithium producing line and living facilities under the leadership of our Chairman, Mr. Xiao Yongen.
Saline Development
ZBY Saline is located in the north of Zhongba County of Rikaze, which is 1,050 km away from Lhasa. The Lake is 4,421 meter's high, and lies in cold and dry highland climate zone.
The total area of the Saline is 247 km2, which is divided into North and South two parts. The North is brine lake with area of 98 km2, while the South is semi-dry saline with an area of 149 km2.
ZBY Saline is one of the salines, which naturally contains over million tons of lithium resource in the world. ZBY Saline's rate of Mg and Li is very low that is only 0.03. And natural lithium carbonate exists in this lake. It has more than 200 million tons of lithium carbonate in the water. The brine contains 1527mg lithium per liter, which ranks the second in the world, although it is left behind Saline Atakama in Chile, which has 1600mg per liter, but 3 times more than Saline Dongtaijinaier in Qinghai Province, which has only 511mg per liter. The concentration of the water in the lake is close to the lithium carbonate saturation point. This leads to a unique advantage on mining.
The exploration work began in the year of 1982. One of the exploiters, Mr. Zheng Mianping, the member of Chinese Academy Of Engineering (CAE), led a scientific team to establish a long-term scientific observation station in ZBY. After 10 years hard working, they found a new kind of lithium resource which lies in natural lithium carbonate as well as in lithium-dolomite. By 1996, the team finished a 6,000 km2 area saline experiment which is know as the compositive exploitation and expanding project on Lithium, boron, kalium of ZBY Saline. The experiment itself confirmed the possibility of industrial mining of the lake. In 2000, the ZBY Saline is regarded as the demonstration project of national high-tech Industry. After these years' hard working and researching, the production technology has already developed into the third stage, which is based on Tibet high land condition. The current method is already regarded as an innovation technology in lithium industry worldwide, and has already applied for the patent. In 2003, this project won the second prize of National Scientific Progress Award.
Industrial production
By the end of 2007, ZBY Saline has reached production capacity of 2500 tons of solid lithium carbonate per year (with Li2CO3 higher than 75%), and 2000-ton production capacity of finished products. It is estimated that in the year of 2008,the capacity will be doubled.
