Introduction
Molecular Sieve type 4A is an alkali alumino silicate; it is the sodium form of the Type A
crystal structure. 4A molecular sieve has an effective pore opening of about 4
angstroms (0.4nm). It does not adsorb any molecule larger than 4A. Such adsorbable
molecules include simple gas molecules such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and
straight chain hydrocarbons. Branched chain hydrocarbons and aromatics are excluded.

Na2O·Al2O3·2.0SiO2·4.5H2O
Application
Molecular Sieve 4A is generally used to remove moisture or to refine material and can
be applied to the liquefied and gaseous materials on the whole.The main uses are as
follows.
1) Drying and removing of CO2 from natural gas, LPG, air, inert and athmospheric
gases, etc
2) Removal of hydrocarbons, ammonia and methanol from gas streams (ammonia syn
gas treating)
3) Special types are used in the air break units of buses, trucks and locomotives
4) Dried packing of chemical and electronic goods
5) Removing moisture in paint and PU Plastic
