Activated Carbon
Activated carbon is a purified and specially processed form of carbon from which most of the impurities have been removed. Activated Carbon is used to adsorb (attach to its internal surfaces) unwanted colours, flavours, odours and contaminants from gases and liquids. Activated Carbon is the best adsorbent as its porosity is developed by the activation process which is achieved by treating ordinary charcoal with steam at very high temperature.
