This product is an ELISA kit for the determination of Human Adiponectin in the samples of serum, plasma or cell culture medium. It is highly sensitive and available for the detection of Human Adiponectin as low as 0.156 ng/mL.
Sensitivity: 0.156ng/mL (CSF, urine); 0.47ng/mL (plasma, serum) (range 1-150ng/mL)
Pack Size: 96 tests
Species Reactivity: Human
Cross Reactivity: Species cross-reactivities includes cat, dog, hamster, monkey, and rat adiponectin. No significant cross-reactions have been observed between Human Adiponectin and human leptin, leptin receptor and resistin at 100ng/ml, but existing techniques may limit the detection of cross-reactions with untested analogues.
Introduction: Adiponectin is an important adipokine involved in the control of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, with direct anti-diabetic, anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in the liver and the skeletal muscle, enhancing glucose utilization and fatty-acid combustion. Antagonizes TNF-alpha by negatively regulating its expression in various tissues such as liver and macrophages, and also by counteracting its effects. Inhibits endothelial NF-kappa-B signaling through a cAMP-dependent pathway. May play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis and tissue remodeling by binding and sequestering various growth factors with distinct binding affinities, depending on the type of complex, LMW, MMW or HMW.
