Description

ASA HR Powder YG-978 is a proprietary ternary graft copolymer engineered from acrylonitrile (A), styrene (S), and acrylate (A). This formulation replaces butadiene rubber with an acrylic ester rubber, which contains no double bonds, resulting in a substantial enhancement in weatherability—approximately ten times greater than standard ABS high rubber powder. The material also offers superior mechanical properties, processability, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance compared to ABS-based alternatives.

ASA resin produced with this powder exhibits excellent coloration capabilities, accepting bright colors that resist fading without the need for additional surface protection such as painting or electroplating. Components manufactured from this resin can be used outdoors with direct exposure to sunlight for 9–15 months while maintaining impact strength, elongation, and color stability.

Typical applications include:

• Architecture and Bathroom: Sinks, drainage fittings, swimming pool pump and filter housings, hot tub components, steps, signage, mailboxes, partitions, planters, and shutter frames due to excellent oil and chemical resistance, color stability, and weatherability.
• Automotive and Motorcycles: Mirror housings, grilles, trim, window frames, roof vents, lamp housings, dashboards, and fairings for brands such as Honda, TVS, and Suzuki, benefiting from UV resistance, color retention, and resistance to detergents and environmental stress cracking.
• Electronics and Electrical Engineering: Outdoor antenna components, cable connection boxes, satellite equipment housings, washing machine panels, refrigerator handles, and microwave oven parts due to resistance to weathering, chemicals, heat, and oils.
• Outdoor and Sports Equipment: Gardening irrigation systems, gasoline-powered lawn mowers, and recreational products owing to UV stability, impact resistance, colorfastness, and resistance to gasoline and detergents.

Packaging is in woven bags with inner plastic liners, including a product qualification certificate. Each package is marked with the trademark, product name, net weight, and batch number. This non-toxic, non-corrosive powder is classified as non-hazardous and should be stored in a cool, ventilated area, protected from sun and rain. The shelf life is one year, though the product remains usable beyond this period if performance tests confirm no degradation.
